To monitor how much water you are putting on the ground whether you are using a soaker hose or sprinkler hose, we recommend using a small empty tuna can or cat food can. Place it under the hose or spray of the sprinkler. Check to time it takes to fill the can up. Once it is full, that is about an inch and a half of water. Set your timer for however long it took the can to fill up and that is the amount of water you should be putting out at least once a week.
